Quiet clothing, made slowly and by hand

Label Orenda began in a two-room studio in Jaipur with a simple idea: Indian clothing could be lighter, easier and quieter without losing its craft. We cut in small runs so nothing is over-produced, and we finish every piece by hand.

Our chikankari comes from a cluster of artisans in Lucknow we have worked with since our first collection. Our hand-block printing is done in Bagru, using natural dyes and wooden blocks carved for us. Our linens and khadi are woven in Rajasthan and West Bengal.

The palette stays deliberately narrow — ivory, sand, warm beige and charcoal — so pieces layer across seasons and years. Slight irregularities in weave and print are part of the craft; we consider them the signature of a hand, not a fault.

Everything is priced directly, with no wholesale markup. What you pay reflects the fabric, the hours of hand-finishing and a fair wage for the people who make it.
